Xinhua News is the state news agency of the People's Republic of China. It provides reports from over 135 bureaus worldwide on political, economic, and international issues affecting Asia and the Pacific Rim. The Xinhua state news agency provides news from 3 sources: 1) the Xinhua News Agency offering real time coverage of critical worldwide political, social, economic, corporate, and sports news aimed an international audience; 2) Xinhua News Agency Economic News, providing Asian economic indices and investment opportunities, economic data releases and business sector announcements that affect regional investment decisions; and 3) Xinhua News Agency Spanish, reporting on domestic and international breaking news and critical events.
Xinhua News is contained in two databases: Files 618 and 818. File 618 contains current data beginning in June 1999. File 818 contains archive data spanning from July 1996 through May 1999. OneSearch/DIALINDEX category XINHUA may be used to begin both files simultaneously; i.e., BEGIN XINHUA.
