The Bowker Biographical Directory database is an authoritative collection of biographical directories, each of which is indexed as a separate subfile (SF=). The database corresponds to the following printed publications:

American Men & Women Of Science (AMWS)-- Covers leading U.S. and Canadian scientists and engineers in the physical, biological, and related sciences.

Who's Who in American Politics (WWAP)-- Covers American political decision-makers at all levels, from federal to local government.

Who's Who in American Art (WWAA)-- Covers North American artists, critics, curators, administrators, librarians, historians, collectors, and dealers.

Duplication, copying, storing, or downloading in print or electronic format is not permitted without prior written authorisation from REI, except for reproduction of the results of discrete searches of the database which amount to only limited quantities of reasonable protions for use by the Subscriber and for use within the Subscriber's organization upon payment of a multiplier fee through the ERA Service for Dialog or through payment of a transactional fee to the Copyright Clearance Center. Ther permission hereby granted for limited copying is conditioned on including on all copies the attribution of REI as the source of information, and a suitable notice of copyright. Under no circumstances may copies, in any media, be made for resale or redistribution.

Subscriber acknowledges that the rate of user fees paid for access to the database, and the limitations of liability set out below, are based in part on the expectation that the Subscriber will bear the risk of any loss which might be incurred due to the use or reliance by the Subscriber or Subscriber's customers on information contained in the database.

LIMITED WARRANTIES AND DISCLAIMERS

REI has used commercially reasonable efforts in collection and preparing material for inclusion in the database but does not warrant that the information therin is complete or accurate, and does not assume, and hereby disclaims, any liability to any person for any loss or damage caused by efforts or omissions in the work, whether such efforts or omissions result from negligence, accident, or any other cause. The Subscriber acknowledges the database should not be relied on as the sole source of information when purchasing decisions or analytical research conclusions are being made. REI further warrants that use of the information contained in the DAtabase by the Subscriber as contemplated herby will not violate the proprietary rights of any third party.

THE WARRANTIES AND REPRESENTATIONS SET OUT ABOVE ARE THE ONLY WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OR MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARICULAR PURPOSE, THAT ARE MADE BY REI.

IN ANY EVENT, REI WILL NOT BE LIABLE TO SUBSCRIBER OR ANY THIRD PARTY FOR DAMAGES, REGARDLESS OF THE CAUSE OR FORM OF ACTION, FOR ANY AMOUNT, IN EXCESS OF THE FEES PAID HEREUNDER BY SUBSCRIBER DURING THE PREVIOUS TWELVE-MONTH PERIOD, AND SUBSCRIBER AGREES THAT IT WILL NOT BRING ACTION AGAINST REI FOR ANY GREATER AMOUNTS OR SEEK PUNITIVE DAMAGES.
