Freedonia Market Research, no longer updating, contains the full text of studies/reports published by The Freedonia Group, Inc. Included are Freedonia's Studies and Corporate Intelligence Reports. Coverage includes comprehensive analyses of industries and products in a variety of industrial sectors. Geographically, 80% of the studies deal with the U.S., 10% with the U.S. and Canada, and the remaining 10% with the world, by country. Each study contains analysis of the economic environment, products and technology, end-use markets, marketing patterns, channels of distribution, competitive strategies, industry structure and market share, and company profiles of leading participants. Also included are analyses and tables of detailed product/market data (historical, as well as forecasts).

Many reports from December 2006 forward have graphs, charts, and other embedded images that can be viewed when searching via DialogWeb, DialogClassic, or DialogLink5.

As mentioned above, in most contexts the nanoscale is defined as ranging
from about 1 to 100 nanometers. Because this is so much smaller than
materials with which most people come into contact, some points of
reference are offered. One nanometer is approximately 1/80,000 the width of
a human hair. One million nanometers is about the width of a small ant, and
one billion nanometers is about the height of a small child.
While such comparisons are illustrative of the tiny scale inhabited by
nanomaterials, these comparisons do not offer much explanation of how
nanomaterials compare in size with conventional materials. One of the most
important differences between nanomaterials and their conventional scale
counterparts is in terms of the ratio between the particle surface area and
volume. The following illustration demonstrates that a cubic object divided
into 64 equal cubic parts offers four times more surface area at the same
    volume.
