File Description [top]

DMS/FI Contract Awards, produced by Forecast International/DMS, is a comprehensive file of all nonclassified U.S. government prime contract actions of $25,000 or more. Major civilian and military agencies covered are the Department of Defense, NASA, the Army, the Navy, the Air Force, the Department of Transportation, the Department of Energy, and the General Services Administration. Payments relating to all business activities of U.S. government agencies are included. These payments are used to analyze government expenditures on a comprehensive level. In addition to providing access to individual awards, the database also features a specialized REPORT option, CROSSTAB, that allows compilation and analysis of data for groups of awards or records.

The DMS/FI Contract Awards database is based on information purchased from the U.S. Federal Procurement Data Center (FPDC). Most government agencies are required by law to report contract payments to the FPDC. These data are processed to correct inconsistencies and add supplementary information. All information is obtained from open, unclassified sources.
