Population DemographicsTM provides statistical data on U.S. population, households, income, education, and occupations. Population data has breakdowns by sex, age groups, and race. Information on households is given by number of households, household size, age of householder, and households with children. Income information includes household income and age of householder by income. Education data reflects education attainment. Occupation data reflects such breakdowns as white/blue collar workers, marketing and sales, engineers, computer operators, physicians, teachers, clerical positions, and managerial/administrative workers.
Data in this file is drawn from U.S. Census Bureau material, updated demographic statistics, buying power indices, standard industrial classification counts, and standard occupation classifications totals of employees and key occupations.

The census date upon which the data in File 581 is based varies by data point. 2000 census data includes: Total populations, and populations by age and race, and all other data not specified as 1990 census data. 1990 census data incudes: Income, Industry, Occupation, Employment status, Education, Home value, Units at address, Mobility, Marital status, Working/non-working mothers, and 65+. Mixed 1990 and 2000 data includes: Household structure.
Current year (2002) estimates and 5-year projections (to 2007) are also given. Geographic levels covered include the U.S. as a whole, with breakdowns by state, county, city, zip code, census division, MSA, CMSA, and DMA. This data is extremely valuable for:
