ICC British Company Annual Reports contains the full text of the Annual Reports and Accounts produced by all U.K. quoted companies. These reports provide detailed financial and textual information on over 2,500 companies. Each record on DIALOG represents one page of an annual report. All records for a single annual report can be retrieved using the preformatted REPORT TITLES feature or the ICC Report Number (RN=) field.

Quoted companies' Annual Report and Accounts are a prime source for the business information researcher. Typically these documents comprise:

  /TX   The year 1989 was one of continuing progress for the Group and 
     marked the thirteenth consecutive year of growth, both in terms 
     of profits and assets per share. Last year I placed great 
     emphasis upon our aim to pursue a broad property investment and 
     development programme with a well - defined geographical balance 
     between the United Kingdom, Continental Europe, the United States 
     and the Far East. It is pleasing to note that, by the end of the 
     year, over 50% of the Group's development programme was located 
     outside the United Kingdom. 
     
     RESULTS 
     
     The accounts for 1989 show that profits before tax increased by 
     36% to L67.7 million and fully diluted earnings per Ordinary 
     share rose by 26% to 18.4p. Shareholders' funds at 31st December, 
     1989 totalled L440 million and fully diluted net assets per 
     Ordinary share were 177p, a 24% increase over the previous year 
     end. In accordance with our practice of regularly reviewing the 
     development programme, the Directors estimate that, after 
     attributable taxation, the present value of the Group's share of 
     developments in progress was approximately L129 million in excess 
     of carrying cost at the year end, contributing to a prospective 
     fully diluted net asset value of 238p per Ordinary share. 
     
     DIVIDEND 
     
     The Directors have declared a second interim dividend (in lieu of 
     a final dividend) of 3.5p per Ordinary share in respect of the 
     year ended 31st December, 1989 which will be paid on 18th May, 
     1990 to Ordinary shareholders on the register at the close of 
     business on 20th April, 1990. Together with the first interim 
     dividend of 1.875p per ordinary share, this represents a 34% 
     increase over the total dividends of 4.0p per Ordinary share in 
     respect of the financial year ended 31st December, 1988.
