Canadian Business Directory, produced by American Business Information, Inc. contains company name, current address, telephone number, employment data, key contact and title, U.S. Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) code, yellow pages and trade name information, and actual and estimated financial data on over 1.4 million Canadian business establishments. A companion file, American Business Directory, File 531, covers over 13 million U.S. businesses.
Data is compiled through a continuous updating cycle of compilation from print sources and through telephone verification. All information derived from telephone over 300 telephone directories throughout Canada is enhanced with SIC codes and six-digit yellow-page product listings. More than 3.4 million telephone verification calls are made to capture additional data, such as primary line of business, key contacts, and actual employee size. Annual reports are also used to cover public companies.
