Info Latino America, provides citations and abstracts of materials relating to contemporary economic, political, and social issues in Latin America. The database provides coverage of a wide range of topics assessing the current situation in Latin America. Info Latino America offers the opportunity to access worldwide sources of information on Latin America, including sources in languages not normally given a wide distribution. Where possible, the Info Latino America staff monitors two daily newspapers and one news journal for each Latin American country.

Sources for the Info Latino America database include major newspapers and news journals of Latin America and the U.S., as well as over 1,500 weekly, monthly, and quarterly publications focusing on political science, economics, international law, business, and any subjects related to major policy issues in Latin America, from public health to international relations.

         national Monetary Fund (IMF) and World Bank conference, 
         analysts predicted that Chile would reduce its tariffs and 
         register growth rates of more than the 2.22% projected for 
         Latin America in 1992. The Chilean Central Bank 
         forecasts that private investment will increase by 10%, private 
         consumption will rise 2.8%, and government consumption will 
         expand 3.2%. Both imports and exports are expected to increase 
         in 1992. A table and graphs are included.
