File Description [top]

UnCover® is the online database that corresponds to the popular UnCover service that provides indexing to 17,000 periodical titles. Bibliographic citations for more than seven million articles are included. Some citations have brief abstracts. Issues were entered into the database as the journals were received from the publishers, so articles appeared in the database at the same time the periodical issue was delivered to libraries and newstands.

A network of 20 academic, public, law, medical, and scientific research libraries located around the world own the periodicals containing the bibliographic citations in the UnCover database.

Subject Coverage [top]

The UnCover database indexes 17,000 periodical titles that are primary English-language based. The database is multidisciplinary and covers a wide range of interests that include the fields of science, technology, and medicine; social sciences (including business), and arts/humanities. Journal selection is based on the following:

  • Availability of a table of contents with page numbers
  • Indefinite retention by the contributing library
  • Exclusion of abstract journals, indexes, directories, and monograph series

The following types of articles are not indexed: letters to the editor, poetry, short book reviews, and other items that do not have distinctive titles and authors. These are available through the document delivery service.

/AB     Ab initio calculations at the MP2 level show that the
CH3 - Hg bond is broken by halogenic acids by a one-step
mechanism, proceeding through a closed transition state
in which, however, bond forming and bleeding are not
     completely synchronous. Activation energies closely
parallel HG - C bond strengths and are stronly influenced
by the electronegativity of the ligands bound to Hg. The
general agreement between computed and experimental trends
gives further support to the reaction mechanism.
