File Description [top]

Global Health is a unique public health database that covers core public health journals as well as journals not routinely indexed by major medical databases. It provides access to unique medical journals and applied life sciences medical information.

Global Health is a specialist bibliographic database for academics and researchers in public and international health. It contains more than 1,000,000 records from more than 3,500 serials as well as books, conference proceedings, and "grey" literature, More than 10,000 serials and other sources are scanned to create 70,000 new records each year.

The database is provided by CAB International and is built upon its predecessor CAB Health. Approximately 75% of the original texts are in English; the rest cover another 55 languages from around the globe. Scientific material is taken from 125 countries giving Global Health a truly global perspective on public health research. Some 95% of the records contain English language abstracts.

/AB     The  objective  of  the  present study was to evaluate the mycoflora and
occurrence of aflatoxins in stored peanut samples (hulls and kernels) from
Tupa, State of Sao Paulo, Brazil. The samples were analyzed monthly over a
period  of  one year. The results showed a predominance of  Fusarium  spp.
(67.7% in hulls and 25.8% in kernels) and Aspergillus spp. (10.3% in hulls
and  21.8%  in kernels), and the presence of five other genera. The growth
of  Aspergillus  flavus  was mainly influenced by temperature and relative
humidity.  Analysis  of  hulls  showed  that  6.7%  of  the  samples  were
contaminated  with AFB SUB 1 (mean levels=15-23.9 microg/kg) and AFB SUB 2
(mean  levels=3.3-5.6  microg/kg);  in  kernels, 33.3% of the samples were
contaminated with AFB SUB 1 (mean levels=7.0-116 microg/kg) and 28.3% were
contaminated  with AFB SUB 2 (mean levels=3.3-45.5 microg/kg). Analysis of
the  toxigenic  potential  revealed  that  93.8%  of the A. flavus strains
isolated were producers of AFB SUB 1 and AFB SUB 2 .
