File Description [top]

Medline Publisher contains records with a status of ‘Publisher’ extracted from the National Library of Medicine (NLM) PubMed database. They are the earliest versions of records which after review by NLM are subsequently supplied for the MEDLINE database. MEDLINE (Medical Literature, Analysis, and Retrieval System Online), produced by the U.S. National Library of Medicine (NLM), is the U.S. National Library of Medicine's premier bibliographic database that contains more than 15 million references to journal articles in life sciences with a concentration on biomedicine. The broad coverage of the database includes basic biomedical research and the clinical sciences including nursing, dentistry, veterinary medicine, pharmacy, allied health, and pre-clinical sciences. MEDLINE also covers life sciences that are vital to biomedical practitioners, researchers, and educators, including some aspects of biology, environmental science, marine biology, plant and animal science as well as biophysics and chemistry. The database also includes records that cover the field of space life science. Examples of these records include basic bone and muscle physiology, psychological effects of isolation, and gravitational effects on plants.

Medline Publisher status records do not contain MEDLINE indexing using NLM's controlled vocabulary, MeSH® (Medical Subject Headings). This indexing is added by NLM after the record has been supplied for the Medline database and is present in those records with a status of ‘Medline’.

/AB     Confocal Raman microspectroscopy is a promising technique which enables
measuring the molecular composition of the skin layers,
non-destructively and without extrinsic markers. The Raman approach is
increasingly used in skin research but with various experimental
conditions. In addition to the different skin types, one of the varying
parameters is the wavelength of laser excitation. This parameter
contributes strongly in the skin Raman response. The present work aimed
to evaluate this effect for 3 different wavelengths, 532, 633 and 785
nm, on pig ear skin models. The Raman signal was assessed in the
spectral fingerprint region. According to the Raman response for
stability, repeatability, variability and fluorescence contribution,
the 785 nm excitation wavelength was shown to be the most suitable for
epidermis depth profiling in the fingerprint region.
