File Description [top]

AESIS (Australia's Geoscience, Minerals, and Petroleum Database) provides a complete index to all available Australian information both published and unpublished in the subject areas. The database covers material written by an Australian or about Australia or Papua New Guinea. The database indexes in excess of 650 journal titles and also covers conference papers, books, maps, field guides, university theses as well as unpublished company exploration reports from all the Mines Departments around Australia. The database also contains approximately 10,000 references to worldwide technical literature. All references are in the English language.

Tips [top]

USE FILE 105

to locate references in the geological, mineral and petroleum subject areas, AESIS specializes in Australian material but as Australians are prolific authors in the geosciences AESIS contains many references not geographically linked to Australia. Include in a Onesearch of other geological and mineral processing databases to locate references unique to this file.

USE LIMITS

/AB    ABSTRACT: Exploration for gold and copper was undertaken at the
Rogers Bore prospect, which is located 30 km south-southwest of
Paraburdoo. The licence area covers a portion of the Ashburton
Formation, which is the uppermost unit of the Wyloo Group. It
comprises greywacke, mudstone, siltstone, sandstone with minor
interbedded conglomerate, dolomite, mafic volcanic rock and
banded iron- formation. Exploration for gold targeted the Duck
Creek Dolomite, which is interpreted to be an assemblage of
shelf and shelf slope carbonates. Sampling failed to identified
anomalous gold or arsenic mineralization. The tenement was
        recommended for surrender.
