Food Science and Technology Abstracts (FSTA)TM is produced by the International Food Information Service (IFIS Publishing), an independent, not for profit organisation whose primary objective is to provide quality information products and services designed to meet the needs of all those working in the food sector. FSTATM is the largest and most respected collection of food science, food technology and food related human nutition abstracts. It is compiled by a team of specialist scientists dedicated to producing a database of consistent high quality and timeliness. Continual development of coverage allows FSTATM to maintain its position as the market-leading food science database. There are more than 109,000 patent records including more than 11,000 Japanese patents.
FSTATM covers journal articles (approximately 80%), patents, theses, standards, legislation, books, reviews, and conference proceedings. IFIS works hard to include sources that are not always easy to obtain, making it a key resource for industrial, academic and governmental users alike.

FSTATM keeps you up-to-date in all areas related to food and beverages including the latest in research, new product development, quality assurance and control, food safety, food composition, regulations and consumer trends. It covers a wide range of topics in food science, food technology, and food related human nutrition including the following:
As of October 2009, FSTA had more than 4,600 serial publications. Approximately, 4,500 are journals and 100 other publications include patents, books, and standards. Original publications in more than 40 languages have been included with all abstracts produced in English.

| /AB | Green biomass of young barley plants exhibited statistically significant |
| higher activity of superoxide dismutase (SOD) and catalase (CAT) at | |
| sampling I (in the phase of plant development DC 29) compared to the later | |
| sampling II (DC 31). Significant effects of varieties, years and | |
| interactions of the studied factors on the activity of the studied | |
| antioxidants were determined. During the experiment period (2005-2007), the | |
| variety Sebastian provided statistically significant higher average SOD | |
| activity (486 U.g-1) versus the variety Malz (416 U.g-1 dry matter) and | |
| line KM1910 (418 U.g-1 dry matter). No statistically significant difference | |
| was recorded between the latter two varieties. Average catalase activity of | |
| the varieties did not show any significant difference. Significantly higher | |
| CAT activity in the sampling I was recorded on average of years and | |
| locations in the variety Sebastian and hull-less line KM1910 (935 and 907 | |
| U.g-1) compared to the variety Malz (675 U.g-1). We can state that green | |
| biomass of young spring barley plants taken during the growth phase DC 29 | |
| was a significant source of enzymes catalase and superoxide dismutase in | |
