The Ei Compendex® database is the machine-readable version of Engineering Index, which provides abstracted information from the world's significant engineering and technological literature. Ei Compendex provides worldwide coverage of more than 4,500 journals and selected government reports and books. Subjects include: civil, energy, environmental, geological, and biological engineering; electrical, electronics, and control engineering; chemical, mining, metals, and fuel engineering; mechanical, automotive, nuclear, and aerospace engineering; computers, robotics, and industrial robots. In addition to journal literature, there are more than 480,000 records of significant published proceedings of engineering and technical conferences formerly indexed in Ei Engineering Meetings®. Ei Compendex 1990® contains records from 1990 forward; Ei Compendex 1970® covers 1970 forward. Engineering Index Backfile® covers the time period 1884-1969. ONTAP® Compendex, File 208, is available for ONline Training And Practice

/AB     The  performance  of three types of interconnection schemes for
large  multimicrocomputer systems, namely, ring, binary cube, and
tree networks, is analyzed. These systems are modeled as networks
of   queues,   and   analytical  results  are  obtained  for  two
performance measures: mean queue length at any node and mean time
spent  in  system by a random message. The analytical results are

4 Until May 1993, AN= entries are Ei Monthly Abstract Numbers. Numbers beginning only with the letters "EI" correspond to journal articles; numbers beginning with "EIM" correspond to meeting or conference publications. (Prior to 1989, "EIM" meeting numbers have no print equivalent.) Beginning in June 1993, AN= entries are Ei Accession Numbers, unique numbers added to records as they enter the Ei system.

5 Available only for records from January 1985 forward.

6 Also searchable using SO=.

7 Search and Display, depending on document type, may include: Conference Title, Conference Location, Conference Sponsor, Conference Date, Journal Name, Publication Year, Report Number, Volume, and Pagination.

8 Truncate the code for the complete retrieval.

9 The Yearly Ei Abstract Numbers correspond to the record's number in the printed "Engineering Index Annual." Present only in File 8.
